Today I was proposed to at recess on the playground. It was by my new husband, Gavin. It was a very tender moment and I remember it like it was yesterday. We were on the playground. Gavin walked up to me and I hugged him. He looked me right in the eyes and said, "... alright, I'll marry you." True story.
Now I will have to break the news to Daddy.

Sounds more like Gavin was accepting a proposal that was given to him earlier. More details on this 'happy event' are needed.
