New Year's Eve

Wow! What a great year it has been!

On New Year's Eve, Mommy, Daddy and I went to my friends Bella's house for an awesome New Year's Eve party! There was lots of delicious food, great friends, a ton of princess play time and some serious s'mores around the fire pit in Bella's back yard.

Oh and sshh ... I even got to stay up waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay past my bed time. I could get used to these New Year's Eve parties.

Push Ups!

I have a new found dessert that I love. Push Ups! They are so delicious and they come in these wonderful flavors. Tonight I enjoyed a strawberry flavored Push Up with Mommy and Daddy. Mine started to melt, but when you love something so much, you want to savor it.

Daddy showed me how you can take the plastic from two Push Ups and make the wheels for a car. He's so silly.

New Nice Brush - Nice Tooth Brush

Nami and Poppie got me a really neat stocking stuffer for Christmas that I really love and started using this evening when I went to brush my teeth. It is a tooth brush that plays music when you brush! It is so awesome! I like to shimmy while I brush my teeth. Daddy is worried I might fall while standing on my step stool, but I am not. I just smile and brush my teeth. I even like to play the music when I am flossing and not brushing my teeth at all. This tooth brush has joined my family of nice brushes, except I have not heard her talk, just sing. Maybe that is all she can do. I will have to ask nice brush.

Merry Christmas!

Wow! Christmas has finally come. I have loved reading with my Mommy and Daddy every night about how baby Jesus was born. Now it is his birthday!

This morning when I woke up, I came down to find another surprise. Santa had come to our house! He had eaten the cookies that I had left for him and the reindeer had left the food that I had left also. He wrote me a letter about all of the things that had happened at his workshop this year.

He was very messy and left his boot prints all over our living room. What a goof ball! I got to open lots of presents with Mommy, Daddy, Nami and Poppie. Santa brought me the Princess music box that I asked for for Christmas. My favorite present was from Mommy and Daddy. They gave me a crown of hair just like Rapunzels! It is so pretty, but the Daddy said the braid can't be taken out so I have to be extra careful with it!

He brought me lots of other wonderful presents. I also got lot of presents from all the special people in my life. I loved them all so much and I really love my family.

After I finished opening my presents, Auntie Aya, Uncle Eric, Emery, Anderson, Tio, Tia, and Auntie Jessica came over to our house for brunch and our annual stocking stuffer exchange. It was so much fun. Mommy got 4 bottles of shaving cream, Tia got three cutting boards, and Uncle Eric got lots of nuts! Everyone really enjoyed it! Then we had a delicious brunch that Mommy and Daddy cooked.

Mommy, Daddy and I went on a walk before heading over to Tia and Tio's house for Christmas dinner. It was great but it was REALLY cold! I was all snugged up in the stroller in a big blanket but Mommy and Daddy said their hands felt like ice cubes! burrrrrr...

Then we went to Tio and Tia's house for Christmas dinner.

There was so much delicious food. I especially liked the soup, the ham, and the little sticks with olives, sausage, and cheese. After dinner, we played the game Apples to Apples. It was really fun and everyone laughed and laughed. Sometimes I laughed too (even though I didn't know what everyone was laughing about!). I can't wait for next year!!

Merry Christmas everyone! I love you all!

Getting ready for Santa!

Wow! Christmas Eve is already here! So awesome! Santa is coming to visit our house tonight. I have been tracking him all day on the Norad Santa radar. I have also taled with Mommy about what we should leave for Santa and his reindeer to eat to help them on their way. I thought that oatmeal raisin cookies would be great for Santa. I thought that Rudolph would like to eat oranges. Here is a picture of the treats that I left for him along with a letter that I wrote:

Well, I need to go to bed because Santa will be at our house any minute now! Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Lights

Wow! I got to go out with Mommy and Daddy to look at Christmas lights tonight. They were awesome! We saw some houses that had Snoopy on their lawn. He is so cute. I wanted to find all of the houses that had a Snoopy! The houses were so beautiful. There was one house that had Santa Claus playing a game of soccer with a snow man and the soccer ball looked like it was flying in the air.

After we looked at Christmas lights, we came home and baked Christmas treats. Daddy made oatmeal raisin cookies and Mommy made jets and the dough for sugar cookies and date pinwheels. Yum! Yum! Yum!

We are all getting really excited to see Nami, Poppie, Skye and Rose tomorrow!

Nice Brush

So, I have three brushes at home. There names are Nice Brush, Mean Brush and Minnie Nicebrush.

Mean Brush really hurts my hair. He has been missing for months and that is alright with me because I don't really miss him.

I found Nice Brush about a month ago at the grocery store when I needed to find a new brush. Nice Brush is so sweet. Nice Brush is a beautiful red color. She talks to me in the morning when Daddy brushes my hair and at night when I am getting ready for bed. She tells me how much she loves brushing my hair. She always asks me how my day was when I go to bed and gives me kisses on my cheek in the morning when I am getting ready for school. I really love her.

Minnie Nicebrush was a brush that Mommy found at the mall when I needed a brush to get ready for my pictures with Santa Claus. Minnie Nicebrush is pink and has a picture of Cinderella on her back. She is small and did not talk at first when we picked her up. Daddy said it was because she had not found her voice yet. Nice Brush spent the day with her when when we came back from our vacation in California and taught her how to talk. Minnie Nicebrush has a very high voice and is very nice like Nice Brush.

Tonight when I went to the grocery store with Mommy and Daddy, I walked down the Hair care aisle and visited the other brushes where I found Nice Brush. They all said, "Hello" to me, told me they remembered me, asked me how I was and asked how Nice Brush was doing. I met two really nice brushes named Revlon and Conair. They each gave me a kiss on my cheeks. I was sad to say good-bye.

Trip to California!

Things have been busy here, but I thought I'd post four pictures from our trip to California. Here you go!!

Here we are in front of a BIG Christmas Tree!

Mommy, Daddy and I with Santa at Disneyland.

Mickey Mouse was all dressed up for the holidays.

And the most important visit of all: Mommy, Daddy, and I with Rapunzel and Flinn Ryder!

Movie Night

Wow! Mommy, Daddy and I got to go together to a movie tonight! Daddy and I met Mommy at this park in downtown where a gigantic movie screen was set up. They showed us two movies tonight. One was "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" and the other was "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". I was really nervous about seeing  "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" because I thought that it was going to be scary. Mommy convinced me that we should stay and watch both movies. Mommy and I curled up in one of our folding chairs with two big blankets wrapped around us and Daddy went and got us Crepes for dinner and dessert. They were yummy.

We stayed and watched both movies. Mommy, Daddy and I laughed so hard at the little doggy named Max that the Grinch was using as a reindeer. We all had a really great time.

Quote of the evening

Here is something that I said this evening that Mommy and Daddy thought that I should share with you.

Daddy: Amelia, can you come in the kitchen and clean up your dolls, please?

Amelia: No, I don't think so. I think I will play with my dolls instead.

Rare Treat

During our trip at Disneyland today, Mommy and Daddy bought a delicious drink called a Mint Julep. They said it was very yummy and it was a kind that kids could drink too. I got to have a sip of it and it was delicious. I almost drank the whole cup. Yummy. Now I know why Mommy and Daddy like them so much.

Ballet Class: A rare treat

I really like my dance class. I get to go once a week on Saturday where I learn ballet for the first part of the class. Then I get to take off my ballet shoes and put on my tap shoes and go clickety, clackety around the room. Dance class is always a lot of fun. Today we had a rare treat because Mommy and Daddy were allowed to come in the class and watch me. They got to watch me balance on the balance beam, skip around the room, do my pliés, and then the best part where I get to use my magic wand.

A thoughtful moment while I decide my next move

Today my teacher told everyone about our dance recital that is coming up soon. I get to wear two different dance outfits. I am not sure I like one of them, but Mommy and Daddy say I will look really great in it. I will put some pictures up of them when we get the outfits. I am really excited.

Swaddling is not just for babies

So I have recently liked being swaddled. I know what you are thinking, and you are right, it is very comfortable. Right before I crawl into bed, I ask my Daddy to take my big red blanket and wrap around me. Then I climb into bed and Daddy tucks me in. I am as snug as a bug in a rug ... well a blanket anyway. Why just the other day, I had Mommy lay out my big pink blanket on the floor and wrap me up "burrito style" . Then she picked me up and held me in her arms. Swaddling was something I used to like when I was a baby, but it is a new fashion I think will catch on. Just you wait and see.

Spicey Mouthwash

I have been having to use mouth wash in the morning and the evening. I wasn't sure about using it at first, but I have started to like the berry flavored kind my Mommy and Daddy bought me. I like swishing it around in my mouth. It makes my teeth a little pink too, which is awesome. I told Daddy that I thought it was spicey and he laughed. I like making Daddy laugh.

Holiday Music

I invented my own version of the Christmas carol "Jingle Bells". Here it is:

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Almost fun it is to ride
Almost open sleigh. Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Almost fun it is to ride
Almost open sleigh. Hey!

Mommy and Daddy really like my version. It makes them smile a lot.

Running at Town Lake

Today, after school, I went to town lake with Mommy and Daddy to exercise and get some fresh air. I really like going with them and seeing all of the people.

Tonight it was a chilly. Daddy brought a blanket and Mommy wrapped me up all snug in my pink jogging stroller. I was nice and cozy.

We got to see the swans again at the lake. We have seen them grow from little babies. They are so cute. I love them and want to take one home.

After our run, Mommy, Daddy and I ate dinner in the back of our car. I like to sing and dance while I eat. That is really the best way to do it. That way you get to savor your food. Try it some time. I think that you will like it. :)

Happy Gram

I got a Happy Gram from school today! My teachers give them out to the kids in my class to let our Mommies and Daddies know that we are doing an extra special job. I can't read really big words yet, so Mommy and Daddy read it to me:
We are so happy to have Amelia in class! She is always so helpful. Today during Math, Amelia did a great job saying all of her shapes. She even knew how many sides and corners they each had! Way to Go, Amelia. Keep up the great work!
I think I will put it up on our refrigerator.

Chloe, I missed you!

While we were away on our Thanksgiving vacation, I really missed my cat, Chloe. I took some extra snuggle time this morning to be with her in Mommy and Daddy's bed.

I love you, Chloe! Did you miss me?

Musings for the weekend

  • I want a horse. I want my horse to be red, pink and purple.
  • Amelia: Mommy, what's happening in Star Wars?
  • Mommy: The Millennium Falcon is being pulled into the Death Star.
  • Amelia: Who are those old guys that Darth Vader is talking to?
  • Mommy: Those are the bad guys.
  • Amelia: Why?
  • Mommy: A lot of the old guys there are bad guys.
  • Amelia: Not Poppie. He's not a bad guy. He's old, but he is not a bad guy.

Tangled

OK. So I got to see the coolest movie ever with Mommy and Daddy today that I have been wanting to see for months. I saw "Tangled" today. It has Rapunzel in it. She has beautiful hair.

I got to have Gummy Bears as my treat. I thought that the movie was really good. I got a little scared. The character Mother Gothel scared me and I wanted to leave the theater and watch it later when the movie came out on DVD. Mommy and Daddy made me fell better though and convinced me to watch the rest of the movie.

I definitely loved it. I want a Rapunzel dress now! She is so awesome!

Thanksgiving

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! I got to drive with Mommy and Daddy all the way from Austin, Texas to Hot Springs, Arkansas! The car trip was so long I wasn't sure we were in the United States anymore.

Mommy and Daddy bought me the movie Toy Story 3 for the car trip. I watched it four times. Two times on Tuesday and two on Wednesday. Mommy and Daddy say that I am good at dividing and adding. It took us two days to get to Arkansas. We stayed at a hotel on the first night. I got to sleep in a bed all to myself. Well, I slept with Mommy and Daddy anyway.

I got to spend three days with my cousins Emery, Anderson and Allison.

I also saw Uncle Eric and Auntie Aya,  Auntie Sammy, and Nami and Poppie. So awesome!

Mommy, Auntie Sammy and Auntie Aya got together and made Thanksgiving dinner this year. Poppie seemed really happy about that.

Auntie Aya is a professional photographer and took all of great photos of everyone during our Thanksgiving vacation. Thank you, Auntie Aya.

Dinner was sooooo good. I licked my plate. I love cranberries and turkey!

We left Arkansas on Saturday and made our way home. I loved seeing my family and can't wait for all of us together real soon.

I kept wondering if Chloe had Thanksgiving dinner also. She probably did like Snoopy did and made a giant Thanksgiving feast after we left the house. She's so smart.

Shopping at HEB!

Last week I did all sorts of chores to earn money. I helped my Daddy wash the car. I cleaned my play room. I put away the dishes. I saved up a whole $20! Wow! That's like a million dollars! My Daddy and I took that $20 to school and gave it to my teacher to save for our trip to the grocery store HEB.

Today my class and I got on our school's bus and went to HEB to use my money to shop for groceries for people who would not have a Thanksgiving dinner. It was so cool! I got to shop just like Mommy and Daddy do! If that wasn't cool enough, I even got to be on the news! So awesome!

Go Daddy Go!

This weekend Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Eric, Auntie Aya, Emery and Anderson and I went to San Antonio for Daddy's run in the San Antonio Rock and Roll marathon! Mommy made these really awesome shirts for all of us to wear to cheer Daddy on during his run. Auntie Aya and I had made this really cool sign for me to hold to cheer on my Daddy! I love the sparkles.

Daddy had to run a long way. Over 26 miles! We cheered him on the whole way. Daddy finished the marathon! Mommy said that he is a rock star. We are so proud of him. I told him that I want to run a marathon with him when I grow up. He smiled and said, "Sure. Why not!"

Mommy's Away on a Business Trip!

Mommy is away on a business trip in San Antonio and I miss her! Here's what I told her this morning:

"Mommy, I love you, I love you, I love you, I miss you. Mommy we're friends but I still love you. I miss you. I love you mommy."

Then I needed Sarah, my puppy, to talk to mommy. They talked for a while and mommy told Sarah to take good care of me. Then my puppy gave me a big kiss from her.

Yesterday I got really upset because Mommy got off the phone before Aurora had a chance to talk to her. I made daddy call her back and then had trouble telling mommy what Aurora wanted to say. Here's how I ended the call:

"I love you Mommy. I love you, I love you, I love you. Mommy, I think I really miss you. When are you coming home? I love you Mommy. Bye."

I sure hope she comes home soon so I can give her lots of kisses.

Daddy said she comes home the day after tomorrow and I'm really glad.

Ok, off to use mommy's makeup. She said it was OK, but daddy looks at me funny every time I go into put on some more of the pretty eyeshadow. I really like the dark blue.

Mommy... Come home!

Here's a photo I sent to mommy yesterday
so she could see me in the morning.

Neighborhood BBQ!

Wow! What a day! I had an awesome morning with my Mommy and Daddy on our Sunday jog and breakfast. To top it off, in the evening, our neighborhood had a barbecue with a petting zoo, a train, music and best of all, pony rides. I got to ride on a pony all by myself. Here are a couple of pictures of me riding on the pony.

Why is this man following me?
I look good on a pony.

Totally awesome! It is now my pony and I have named her Princess. What is more, I got to see Emery and Anderson, Auntie Aya and Uncle Eric at the barbecue. So cool!

Mommy/ Daddy: Oh, do you mean a Ninja Turtle? When Zachary grows up, he is going to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle?

Amelia: Yes.

Throw a Penny in a Fountain

Did you know that if you throw a penny in a fountain you can make a wish and it will come true? I can't tell you my wish but I'll give you a hint... London, princesses, and me!

Run for the Water

Here are Mommy, Daddy and I before the race.
 It was still dark out!
On Halloween Mommy, Daddy, Miss Veronica, and I all got up when it was still nighttime and went to run in the Run for the Water. Mommy says that it is a really important run and by our participation we will help little kids have fresh water that they can drink. We decided it would be really fun for Mommy, Miss Veronica, and I to dress as turtles and for daddy to dress as a bunny rabbit. The story of the tortoise and the hare is a really good story. In the real story the tortoise wins the race, but in our race daddy won. He is an amazingly fast racer! I couldn't believe how fast he ran! Mommy, Miss Veronica and I were a long way from finishing and Daddy was already done! He is awesome!

After the race... the bunny and two running turtles.

Here's the back of Mommy and Miss Veronica's shirts.

The running turtles... aren't they beautiful!

Boy that Miss Veronica is so silly!

The sun came up!

Here I am with Mommy and Daddy after the race.

Princess Witch

For Halloween I'm going to be a princess witch. Auntie Aya had her studio set up for Halloween and she took a few photos of me in my costume. You'll have to wait until next week to see me with all my friends trick-or-treating and all my candy-candy-candy!!

Amelia... Smile!

Happy Fall!!

October 24, 2010

This weekend Daddy, Mommy, Auntie Aya, Uncle Eric, Anderson, Emery and Tia all went on our annual trip out to the pumpkin patch in the country. There were goats to feed, pumpkins to crawl on, a pumpkin coach, and funny pictures with cutouts for your heads and hands. There were also horses to ride but mommy said that I wasn't big enough to ride the horse. Maybe next year when I'm five! We had a really fun time.

What a purdy family!

I loved feeding the goats. Uncle Eric bought goat food so we could all give it a try. Their whiskers tickled my hands and made me laugh. Some of the goats must have been really hungry because they were crazy about getting the food. They would reach their entire heads through the fence to get the food and push eachother out of the way to get to my hands. I think their mommies need to teach them about sharing.

I think Emery liked feeding the goats too. Anderson was a little scared of them but he laughed and laughed when Emery fed them. He's such a cute boy.

I love my cousins!
I've included some other photos from our trip for your enjoyment. Have a great day!

Anderson and Emery were really interested
in the strawberry plants. Maybe they're going to be farmers.

Happy Halloween!!
