Cultures Parade

Today we had an awesome event at school called the Cultures Parade. Throughout the month, each of our class rooms have been celebrating the world’s cultures and learning about our world’s children, sports, music and animals. We finished out the month with our Cultures Parade. Each classroom  created costumes and made tools with which to march. Our classroom celebrated Indian culture and we marched in Indian outfits. I got to wear a beautiful sari and march with my friends.

Playing with Mommy in New York

Day 2

Bright and early Mommy and I headed out of our hotel and went to find one of my true loves... bagels! I love them. They are amazingly delicious. Especially when they have lots of yummy cream cheese!

Hello friend - A blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. YUM!!

Oh man, that's delicious. Seriously!

Mommy liked her bagel too!

Wait, wait... I need another bite!

After our delicious breakfast (did I say I love bagels?), Mommy and I hopped on the subway and headed uptown to the Natural History Museum.

Boy the subway is loud and the trains move fast!!

Hi mommy!

Oh that T-Rex was scary and had huge teeth!!

Mommy asked me what kind of dinosaur I would like to be, and I told her I'd be a pterodactyl. Mommy told me how to spell it. I think it should start with a T but mommy says it starts with a P. I think I'm right.

After we were finished at the Natural History Museum we headed downtown to Bryant Park and the New York City Public Library for Story Time!! When we got to Bryant Park I noticed there was another Merry-Go-Round. I decided to give riding on one of the pretty horses a try. It was very fun!!

I promise I wasn't afraid.

Ahh... me and my love.

The Merry-Go-Round was so beautiful and played the most wonderful music!

Weeeeeee.....
Then we decided to relax a while in the park.

My favorite lovey

After a relaxing time in the park we were off to story time at the New York Public Library. It was great. The teacher sang songs, read books, and even did a little dancing. She read four books. My two favorites were the one about the jelly fish and the one about the dog. Mommy is really good at remembering the stories and can tell them even without the book!!

Back on the subway again! This time, we were heading to lower Manhattan to meet up with mommy's friend Veronica!

Here I am in Veronica's office! Mommy sure does miss her!

After we picked up Veronica we headed to their house in Brooklyn and to birthday dinner for Mommy. I got to see Veronica's puppies Howard and Billy. I haven't seen Howard since we all ran the doggy dash together! We went to a yummy pizza place for dinner and I fell asleep! I never got to have the birthday cupcakes but Mommy said they were very yummy!

It was a really great day!! So fun!

Next up... Day 3!

Adventures in NYC with Mommy and Daddy

Last weekend Mommy, Daddy, and I got to go to New York City on vacation. Well actually, Mommy and I got to go on vacation while Daddy had to work. But he did get to be on TV and meet some chef mommy thinks is verra handsome...

Here are some pictures Mommy and I took on the trip.

DAY 1

Right when we got off the subway we ran into this guy.
Mommy was really excited to meet him but I just thought he was some bald guy.

My first NYC hotdog. Yum!! I ate the whole thing.

There was a cool street fair going on right outside our hotel!
Playing on the rocks in Central Park! So fun!!

Wee-hu!!

Heading down to the famous Merry-Go-Round in Central Park

When is it my turn???

Mom... I don't want my picture taken...
I want to go on the Merry-Go-Round!!

Yippee!!!

I wanted to go in the wagon instead of riding the horse.

Central Park with Mommy and Daddy

You're squishing me!!

Mommy said that behind me was a famous hotel.
The one where Eloise lives (The Plaza I think). I wonder if I can live there too?

Time Square... but I didn't see any clocks. Just LOTS OF LIGHTS!

It blew my mind. Seriously.

That's it for Day 1. I'll post Day 2 tomorrow. See ya!!

Playing the Piano in New York City

While we were in New York City, Mommy, Daddy and I went to this HUGE toy store with some of Mommy's friends. It was awesome!! It had every kind of toy you could imagine! One of the best thing was this piano you play with your feet. Mommy said it was in a movie (but I haven't seen it). Mommy and Daddy took a video of me playing it. I'm awesome... seriously.

First here's two videos of the toy store workers playing the piano:

And here's the video of me playing the same songs:

I know... I'm awesome.

Soccer!!

Last weekend was my first soccer game. It was awesome! Our team is called the Longhorns and I've got lots of friends on my team. Auntie Aya, Uncle Eric, Emery and Anderson came to my first game too! I did such a great job. I even scored!

Here are some pictures mommy and daddy shot at the game.

I'm an excellent soccer player... seriously!
look at my kick!

Slicker Heroes

Today I learned about slicker heroes. They are so awesome! They have all sorts of super powers and there are boy and girl slicker heroes. I colored one in class today. Her name is Spider Girl. She has a red suit, but no hair. At least, I don't think she has any hair.

Daddy says that when he was little, his favorite was Batman. My favorite is Bat Girl. She has a ubility belt with all sorts of ratchets. So cool!

The lovies are controlling me

As you know, I have a lot of lovies. What can I say, I have a lot of love to give and my lovies are only to happy to share the love. Tonight, something very weird happened. I suspected something the other morning when most of my lovies were on the floor when I woke up, but this evening removed all of my doubts. Yes, ... my lovies are controlling me. I was trying to put on my pajamas and could not get my arm through the sleeve. Then, I fell out of my bed for no good reason at all. I think that my lovies are using a remote controller to make me look silly. I am not sure yet which one is doing it. Maybe its Hearty. Maybe that heart that she holds is really a secret remote control made to look like a heart. It could be Bella Ella Torres Coleman. She has been giving me the blank stares lately and I admittedly have not been paying her as much attention as I used to. I will be keeping a special eye on them. One of these days one of them is going to slip up and make a mistake and then I will catch them at their little game.

Sad News

I am very sad to tell you all that Sunny, my sweet fish, has died. When we got home from our walk tonight Mommy noticed that Sunny wasn't moving. Mommy and Daddy told me that she was really old (twice as old as Daddy's grandma!) and that she must have been all used up. I decided that I wanted to bury her in the back yard. So we went out back, had a little service for her, and each said goodbye. Daddy told her that he hoped she'd be with lots of fish friends and that she would never be replaced, I told her I loved her, and Mommy told her that she hopes in fish heaven she can have more than one pellet of food to eat each day.

Mommy and Daddy said that next weekend we can go and get another fish, but I don't want to get another one like her. I'd like to get a different kind and a new fish tank. Maybe one with a pirate ship.

I love you Sunny and I will miss you every day.

My Questions from the Trail Tonight

What makes the wind?
What makes the wind stop?
Why is it sometimes night?
What does God look like?
What... God is Jesus's daddy? I thought Joseph was Jesus's daddy...
Who was the first baby?
Was it Jesus?

I had a few additional questions after we got home:

What is the tooth fairy?
What happens when you die?

Running with Mommy and Daddy

Last night I went running with Mommy and Daddy at Town Lake. As you know, we are down there a lot. But yesterday I decided I wanted to do the "loop" without the jogging stroller.* I ran some, walked some, and was carried a little. It was great. EXCEPT... as we were getting to the end I couldn't help it... I just started scrunching over. My legs were just aching. I kept saying to mom and dad, "My knees are aching! My knees are aching!!" But then the strangest thing started to happen. My butt started to itch REALLY BAD. So I just stood there and said (very loudly), "you guys!! My butt REALLY ITCHES!! I'm serious!!" Mommy and Daddy seemed like they cared but still made me walk the rest of the way to the car. Tonight we're heading down there again. I think I'll have them bring the jogging stroller this time!

* Amelia's mom here... just as a point of clarification - the "loop" is 3.1 miles. Amelia walked and ran almost all of it! Way to go Amelia!!
